Personalised Engraved Gifts Proved Popular Christmas Presents

Sales of personalised engraved gifts soared during Christmas 2012 and are likely to continue strong during 2013

At one time personalised engraved gifts were not particularly popular. Many people simply did not consider them at all. A lot of those that actually did think about buying them, dismissed the idea, because they believed these gifts to be too old-fashioned. However, things cycle, today, engraved gifts are very much back in vogue and are once again very popular.

People want to give gifts that are actually useful to the person they are giving the gift to and reflect that thought has gone into the present. Engraved gifts tick these boxes. This move to more practical and personal gifts has been born out of the fact that people have less money to spend on gifts than they once did. They want the money they spend to really count, so during Christmas 2012 sales of practical and personalised gifts increased.

An engraved glasses case, pen or business card case looks good and is practical. There is less demand for some more traditional engraved gifts like tankards, cigarette cases and lighters, but this is largely down to the fact that fewer people smoke than they used to. Many people now drink bottled beer and prefer to drink it out of the bottle rather than pour it into a glass or tankard.

However, sales of hip flasks are still good. More people are enjoying outdoor sports and activities in the UK, so engraved hip flasks still make good gifts. After all, they do not have to be filled with alcohol; they can just as easily be used for an energy drink. Their flat shape makes them very practical.

The future of personalised engraved gifts

Always Personal has been selling personalised engraved gifts for decades and are planning to continue to do so. They are always looking for new ideas and expanding their range whenever possible. This year engraved jewellery, such as bracelets and cufflinks, have sold well, so this a part of their range they are considering expanding. They recently introduced engraved trinket boxes and jewellery boxes, and they have sold well too. They are example of items that are beautiful to look at, and practical, yet relatively inexpensive.
