Essex, United Kingdom (7th May, 2013) – Simply Academy, a leading provider of financial advisor training, has commented on the number of new home registrations within the first quarter of 2013.

According to NHBC statistics, approximately 31,739 new UK homes have registered with the NHBC during the first quarter of 2013, and is therefore the highest level for this period since 2008. As only 25,998 new homes were registered in the first quarter of 2012, the new figure demonstrates a significant increase of 22% on last year.

The recent increase has also been determined by a 43% annual increase in public sector registrations. The government’s £2.2 billion Affordable Homes Programme is thought to be the key factor for the rise, as it aims to deliver 170,000 new homes by April 2015.

The NHBC has also revealed there has been a 61% increase in new houses being registered in London for the first quarter of 2013 in comparison to the first quarter in 2012. As Battersea Power Station’s redevelopment, which created 800 new properties, was registered during the first phase of the project it helped to significantly augment the quarter’s figure. It is also expected that 3,000 new homes will be built on the landmark site over the next 15 years.

A spokesperson for Simply Academy commented: “It appears that new UK home registrations have reached a five year high for quarter one by rising by 22% on 2012. The market is showing visible signs of improvement which will benefit those undertaking regulatory examinations through Simply Academy.”
