Kent, United Kingdom (15th January, 2014) – Display Developments, specialists in point-of-sale and display products including brochure holders, acrylic cases and display cabinets, has been contracted by Qatar Airways to produce a significant number of document management systems as part of its Hamad International Airport project.

Display Developments are a regular manufacturer of document management systems for the Aircraft maintenance industry, including specialist workstations and task card scheduling & paperwork control systems. They have been contracted to supply 300 mobile workstations, 50 transport trolleys and over 1000 document control panels over the next few months.

As part of the building of the new Hamad International Airport in Qatar, Qatar Airways are currently constructing a new aircraft maintenance, repair and overhaul centre, which at 186,000 sq. metres will be one of the largest in the world. This new facility will house Qatar Airways’ line and heavy maintenance operations, incorporating state-of-the-art material handling and docking systems. The fully air-conditioned hangar module will accommodate five A380s, three A340-600s and four A320s simultaneously. It also incorporates technical and administrative office areas, meeting rooms, workshops and prayer spaces.

A spokesperson for Display Developments commented: “Display Developments is delighted to announce that it has been contracted by Qatar Airways to supply such a large number of document management systems. Qatar Airways is one of the world’s leading airlines and it is a real honour to be involved in the Hamad International Airport project, which looks set to be one of the most impressive of its kind anywhere in the world. We are already hard at work to ensure the contract is fulfilled on time and that every system we produce is of the highest quality.”
