A Manchester based recruiter and an online marketer are aiming to tackle the north west ‘digital’ recruitment crisis.
The two entrepreneurs have combined their knowhow to create a marketing recruitment consultancy called The Candidate.
Certain segments of the media and marketing sector in the UK are suffering from a skills shortage which is driving up salaries and impacting on the bottom line.
Good client facing account managers and digital marketers, with expertise in PPC, affliate, web development and SEO are particularly scarce, as are practitioners in PR, advertising, design and print.
This skills shortage is very evident in the north west with employers crying out for good quality candidates at all levels.
The management team comprises recruiter Brian Matthews and marketing expert Colin Telford, who aim to marry their individual skillsets to ensure that client and candidate requirements are handled to the highest standards.
The Candidate represents agency and client side businesses and has particularly strong expertise in the digital marketing sector along with advertising, PR and marketing. The Candidate is already respresenting number of major digital agencies and has a wide range of roles on offer via its website.
Matthews was previously a resourcing consultant at the Chartered Institute of Public Finance and Accountancy and headed up the Manchester office of Primetime Recruitment.
Colin Telford previously co-founded of R.O.Eye, an affiliate marketing consultancy which employs 30 people in the North West, London and Berlin. Colin is now using this industry knowledge to tailor The Candidate’s offering by using his extensive understanding of the technical requirements of most digital roles in the market.
Managing partner of The Candidate, Brian Matthews said, “The digital sector skills shortage is reaching crisis point and we are aiming to be part of the solution by providing candidates with the exact skills set which are in demand. The required skill set in the digital marketing sector is vast and many recruiters don’t have the expertise to handle specialist digital requirements.
Colin Telford, managing partner of The Candidate added, “In addition to understanding the digital marketing and media sectors, we also know how agencies want to be handled. What we have found is that many recruiters can be too salesy and constantly pressurise clients and candidates in order to hit their sales targets. We are aiming to do things differently by building genuine relationships with clients and analysing their briefs. We will carefully vet candidates to ensure that they match the client’s requirement as closely as possible. We are also building relationships with candidates and clients via social media to make sure that we really understand as much as possible about their requirements.”
The Candidate’s headquarters are located on Quay Street in Manchester. Visit http://www.wehavethecandidate.co.uk for further details
