AIRPORT PARKING AND HOTELS (APH) COMPARES THE EXTRA CHARGES OF AIRPORT PARKING COMPANIES

Sussex, UK (July 4th, 2012) – Airport Parking and Hotels (APH) has put the spotlight on the airport parking industry by comparing the extra costs customers are faced with when booking airport parking in the UK. The research is available in the Know Before You Go section of the website, at www.aph.com/extracharges, and compares the extra fees of eight UK airport parking booking agencies.

The table highlights the costs for bookings made with a credit or debit card, the extra cost to amend a booking or cancel a booking and fees when customers apply for a refund including companies such as Holiday Extras, Flight Hotel Reservations (FHR) and Purple Parking.

With regards to booking fees  the research found that the differences between agencies were slight; five of the eight agencies do not charge customers an extra fee to use a credit card and bookings paid with a debit card are offered free of charge by all the agencies.    Just one agency charges a flat booking fee of £1.95 for each booking.

When cancelling a booking, the costs and policies were found to vary more widely between the agencies. Some of the companies charge customers to cancel a booking, including Holiday Extras (£9.50 per booking), Skyparksecure (£10.00 per booking) and FHR (£7.40 per booking, when cancelled with more than 24 hours notice). APH and BAA Parking, on the other hand, allow customers to cancel a booking free of charge up to 24 hours prior to the date of departure.

These terms exclude certain non flex products.

For customers who wish to amend a booking, then most of the companies allow changes to be made free of charge up to 24 hours prior to departure, with some even offering a full refund.

Airport Parking and Hotels (APH) is the UK’s award winning long stay airport parking operator and booking agency, after winning the Best Airport Parking Company for a second year running at British Travel Awards 2011. This year APH also celebrates its 32nd year as a retailer and operator of pre-booked airport parking and travel extras. APH offers parking at all major UK airports as well as airport hotels packaged with parking and airport lounges. APH is also a carbon balanced company and has, through support of the World Land Trust, helped purchase more than 1,000 acres of endangered rainforest.
