The crash resulted within the deaths of dane chinnery, 19, philip logan, fifty two, philip seary, fifty seven, dorota rynkiewicz, 35, and robert huxley, 63, all from new addington, and mark smith, 35, and donald collett, 62, from croydon.
Family participants of the victims sat inside the public gallery to listen the decision.
The foreman of the jury said: “the tram driving force became disorientated, which triggered loss of recognition in his environment, in all likelihood because of a loss of sleep.
“Due to which, the motive force did not brake in time and drove his tram closer to a tight curve at excessive speed.
“The tram left the rails and overturned directly to its proper facet, as a result of which the deceased [were] ejected from the tram and killed.”
