Staffordshire, United Kingdom (13th June, 2012) – Private Kilimanjaro, a leading, expert provider of private and group climbs up Mount Kilimanjaro, comments as Manchester City FC and Umbro partner together to climb Mount Kilimanjaro in aid of two charities.
Having worked closely with Umbro for a number of years, MCFC is delighted to announce that the leading sportswear and football equipment company has decided to join them on a climb up Kilimanjaro this year in aid of two charities: Shoot for the Moon and Cardiac Risk in the Young (C.R.Y).
Shoot for the Moon was chosen due to Manchester City’s new partnership with Sport Relief, a campaign based on helping young people achieve their goals. C.R.Y was selected after two MCFC Academy players were forced to retire from football at just 15-years of age after discovering they were suffering from life-threatening heart conditions.
James Beaumont, Sports Marketing Player Manager at Umbro, commented: “The idea to climb Kilimanjaro for the two worthy causes we have selected in partnership with MCFC has been a huge success. The climb presented a mental and physical challenge that saw everyone struggle at times, but reaching the summit and raising over £12,000 for our charities is a fantastic achievement.”
