Lyon is the place to be in July. The city is conveniently accessible by TGV from Paris (2 hours) and Lille (3 hours). Indeed the popular Nuits de Fourvière will be held during that time. Les nuit de Fourvière are devolved to arts and, since 1946, focuses to coexist disciplines such as theater, music, dance, opera, circus, cinema, etc. Every summer in June and July, the festival presents about 60 performances in the Gallo-Roman theaters of Fourvière to more than 130,000 spectators. The festival guarantees openness and modernity by being a creative festival. Les Nuits de Fourvières will produce shows of high standard for the highest number, retain internationally acclaimed artists and present new artists in order to meet the requirements of the festival’s artistic line. This year music amateurs will be able to watch and listen well known performers like Bob Dylan, Ben Harper and Ravi Shankar.
Tourists can take a TGV to reach Paris, the French capital, for an escapade. The high speed train is the French pride – both in terms of engineering and train service quality. Travelling at a speed of 300 km/h, the TGV has both first and second class, comfortable seats, bar service and other on board amenities. Convenient to bring all the family to watch the final race of the prestigious tour de France which is set to be on the 22nd of July 2012.
After the tour de France, the return ticket will allow visitor to take the TGV from Paris Gare de Lyon to head back to Lyon Partdieu railway station. The timing is perfect as visitors will be in time to discover a performer with a fair amount to talent, grace and a little dose of mischievousness. Carmen Maria Vega and her group will be on stage on the 28th July 2012 in Lyon, for the Nuits des Fourvière.
Using Lyon as a gateway, travellers can board the TGV, to explore other TGV routes in France such as,
TGV Lyon – Annecy route or the TGV Lyon – Montpellier route. TGV tickets can be collected through your inbox, at the station or sent at home by post. For those who have a rail pass, a seat reservation is needed to board the train. There is no check in prior to boarding a TGV.
